Besigye Still Under House Arrest

The leader of People's Front for Transition(PFT), Dr. Kizza Besigye, has expressed his disappointment to the police for blocking his visitors and Ugandans from accessing his home in Kasangati, Wakiso district.

Besigye was put under house arrest after he was intercepted by security operatives following his attempt to mobilise Ugandans to rise up against Museveni's dictatorship and high cost of living which he said were affecting vulnerable common citizens whom he said belong to the "cassava" republic.

Police patrol and military vehicles have been stationed at and around his home since Thursday last week including one sedan car which is in front of his gate.

Colleagues of the (PFT) Red Card Front, who had come to check on him at home, weren't allowed anywhere near the home, something which was very unfortunate, they couldn't get through the roadblock at the junction to his home. Even the food they brought for him had to go back.

Fellow Ugandans, One day we shall, definitely, overcome this.

  1. Uganda must Arise, Kenya was there many years ago, but it's the Unity of opposition that brought down a dictator, Ugandans wake up and Topple the despot.

  2. This is so bad. The Ugandan government should at least, if not for anything else, respect this man for what he's done and contributed to the Uganda opposition you have today. There are personalities in the country that couldn't be subjected to such harassments, regardless of the difference.

  3. Thank you Radio Katwe for standing up against this struggle and dictatorship.
We should mobilize more citizens especially in western uganda to liberate that part of the country too and eventually dislodge the greedy captors.

  4. Museveni, why are you holding Dr Kizza Besigye incommunicado? You can not allow anybody ,even his lawyers and doctors to see him!

    What crime has he committed?

  5. When I read such, I wonder if African leaders have the word freedom in their dictionary. You oppress people and when people go out to ask why they are being oppressed you arrest them like criminals. Someone tell African leaders everything has an expiry date.

  7. Isn't this the right time to mobilize opposition leaders and members to join Dr. Besigye's fight. This will shake the dictator and remove him from power

  10. Why didn't he mobilize the rest, he thinks he can be a one man army? We didn't know his planned protest until his arrest, let him learn to play his politics with us all aggrieved Ugandans

  11. He chose to belittle Bobi wine . He forgot how many times himself was tortured and arrested and teargassed. His ego could not make him see beyond his pride. He couldn't accept that a young man had won the hearts of many
Now protesting at this time what does he hope to achieve besides sympathy. And add another arresting in his resume.
    Nothing new....
Let him swallow his pride and watch the consequences of his pride unfolding

Thank you Radio Katwe for the enlightenment and insight but most of the people in Uganda are obsessed with the word "Diversion". Everything is a diversion even if it is in Good faith. Even if Besigye is a diversion let us learn to appreciate , this guy has sacrificed a lot which some of us can't do even if we are paid. How many surgeries has he undergone the brutal beatings, harsh arrests and detentions, prosecutions etc etc.
Credit him for that but am worried that after sometime you will refer the same to H.E Bobi Wine .

  19. Ugandan's should have rosen up when Museven stolr our victory and many Ugandans were killed in November massacre by mafias without uniforms if Besigye joined Bobi Wine then dictator Museveni would be out of power by now.
